Is this image converter free?

Yes. verto is free to use, no account is required, and there are no paid plans in this version.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

Most conversions run directly in your browser and never leave your device. When a server-side conversion is required (for example for TIFF or AVIF if your browser cannot encode it), the image is processed entirely in memory, sent back to you, and discarded the same moment. Nothing is written to disk and nothing is cached.

Which formats are supported?

verto supports JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and TIFF. SVG, HEIC, RAW, PSD, AI, EPS and PDF are not supported in this version.

Can I convert images to WebP?

Yes. WebP is one of the recommended output formats and is supported in the browser on most modern devices.

Can I convert images to AVIF?

Yes. verto will first try to encode AVIF in your browser. If your browser cannot, the conversion is sent to a server-side fallback that processes the image in memory and returns the result.

Why is HEIC not supported?

HEIC requires a separate, licensed codec and adds significant server cost and complexity. Until we add a reliable codec, please export HEIC images to JPG or PNG first.

Does JPG support transparency?

No. JPG cannot store transparent pixels. When you convert a transparent image to JPG, verto fills the transparent areas with white and shows a warning on the file row.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes. You can convert up to 50 images in a single batch and download them individually or as a single ZIP.

Why is there a conversion limit?

Because verto is free and requires no account, we apply lightweight per-IP and concurrency limits so the server stays fast and available for everyone.

Are ads required to use the tool?

No. Ads are isolated from the converter. The tool works completely even if ads fail to load or are blocked.
